Multimedia Communications Ltd (MMC) is a New Zealand-owned provider of Connectivity Infrastructure Systems nationwide, including Fibre Optic, ICT & Security and Electrical systems. With a track record of close to 20 years in this most dynamic of Information Technology sectors, MMC is looking for an organised Works Co-ordinator to join the team and assist us in completing critical and wide-ranging scheduling, purchasing and administrative tasks across the business. 

About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role will be accountable for assisting with preparatory Works Co-ordination tasks for both Build and Service facets of the company. They will receive job requests/details from Project and Build Managers and ensure that teams, plant, equipment, and materials are all scheduled and ordered before job start dates. They will also help with obtaining pre-work approvals/permits and to collate critical Pre-Start Health and Safety Document before project commencement – in short, they are critical for us to get the job done! 
They will also be the first point of contact for all external enquiries, appropriately directing them to the correct place, entering their information into our System and will support all other Processes to complete general administration duties including travel booking, vehicle servicing booking etc.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be someone who is proactive and demonstrates a desire to get stuck-in to all administrative support aspects for our projects. This might even suit someone who wants to develop either their administrative or project management careers further and who might be willing to ‘step-up’ within the company. 
Requirements for the role/s are as follows:

  • A minimum of 2 years of Customer Service/Administration/Works Co-ordination experience, ideally within the construction industry. Some experience with scheduling and project management would be advantageous, but it is not critical as we will teach someone who we believe is the right fit.
  • Have good communication and customer services skills to be the first point of contact as part of a close-knit team.
  • An ability to deliver and solve problems under time pressure, prioritizing their tasks appropriately
  • Be able to coordinate planning requirements for projects, that are often simultaneous
  • Be organised and able to follow a disciplined, systematic approach
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug tes
