CP24 is looking for an experienced Senior Producer who thrives in a breaking news environment!

 Job Description:

• Editorial leadership:
  • Produce outstanding news-driven shows 
  • Make solid and timely editorial decisions  
  • Ensure news gathering is diverse and inclusive
• People leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of producers, writers, anchors and reporters
  • Communicating editorial decisions and providing context
  • Supporting an inclusive and respectful work environment
• Daily responsibilities:
  • Work closely with various teams including assignment, field crews and control room
  • Write and produce accurate, current, informative and varied lineups and shows
  • Generate and manage story ideas, segments and guests
  • Vet scripts, videos, banners and content
  • Produce live broadcasts in the control room
  • Work closely with sales and digital teams
  • Ensure the highest broadcast and editorial standards are met
• Other duties as required

 Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a news environment
• A reputation for making great television
• A track-record for being a strong team leader
• A strong understanding of broadcast and editorial standards, and how to apply them
• Experience with live events and breaking news, and exceptional control room producing skills
• Great news judgement and excellent knowledge of news, current events, and pop culture
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
