Nature of the contribution:
Reporting to the SVP – IT Delivery, Payments, Cards, Data and Portfolios, the incumbent will take full responsibility for payments and related operations, card and regulatory portfolios.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure the quality (availability, reliability) of services offered to clients and colleagues who use our applications (robust design, representative testing, preventive maintenance, incident handling, definitive solutions that address the root causes of issues)
- Support the business sector in selecting priorities and planning projects to create or maintain maximum value and balance short-term and long-term priorities
- Boost the performance and agility of execution of projects by leveraging our culture, agility, innovation, DevSecOps, cloud computing and other drivers while monitoring best practices in the field
- Develop, optimize and implement processes in line with industry best practices to ensure efficient management of the Bank's financial, human and material resources
- Manage IT risks (obsolescence, cybersecurity, disasters, etc.) for applications and projects under your responsibility. Make sure your colleagues understand and appreciate the needs of the Personal Banking clients sector and cross-sector payment needs.
- Make sure that architecture decisions support all objectives and strike a good balance between short-term and long-term priorities (e.g., reducing technical debt)
- Manage relationships with suppliers together with Sourcing and Procurement
- Manage the resource pool, competency development and acquisition, the balance between supply and demand, diversity and workforce risks in your sector
- Represent the Bank on committees or at special events relevant to your field of activity
- Oversee operational quality across the sector by ensuring regulatory standards are met, compliance is maintained, and privacy policies are respected
- Guide the strategic and financial decisions of IT Delivery Management so as to best meet the needs of the Personal Banking clients sector
- Manage the Bank's business relationships with its outside suppliers for these sectors, e.g., select suppliers, negotiate contracts with them and control costs
- Ensure operational quality across your sector, in particular by ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, compliance and confidentiality policies while controlling product quality.
Experience and position requirements:
As an experienced manager, during your career you must have demonstrated the following:
- Ability to take charge of payments and related operations for the Bank, including all payment types: Interac transfers, wire transfers, bill payments, electronic transfers and corporate transfers
- Ability to promote teamwork and deliver on the Bank's values of agility, empowerment and partnership; this involves building trust, showing vulnerability, being respectful, offering recognition and provide ongoing guidance for employees
- Ability to provide an overview of the Personal Banking project portfolio
- Ability to collaborate closely with the VP – Personal Banking IT Delivery, Everyday Banking, Channels and Cards to offer comprehensive, consistent service to the Personal Banking sector. You will organize a shared management committee to avoid redundancies.
The candidate must also:
- Have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent education
- Have at least 15 years of diversified investment experience, as well as 7 to 10 years of management experience
- Be bilingual (English and French)
