About the Role

Reporting to the National Viticulturist, this role covers our Hawkes Bay vineyards where the journey of our award-winning wines begins. In addition to advising on technical vineyard management, you would have a key role to play with our Vineyard Managers to highlight vineyard performance and identify ways to controls pests and diseases and increase quality and yields.
 
Key Responsibilities

• All aspects of growing and optimising quality in conjunction with Vineyard Managers
• Collection and analysis of data that monitors phenology, vine health, stress, pests and disease
• Work with the Vineyard Manager to monitor individual block performance, highlight issues and ensure an efficient and timely pest and disease control programme
• Liaise with the National Technical Viticulturist and oversee the completion of tasks such as soil testing, fertiliser application, and tissue testing, plus any trial work on the vineyards
• Oversee the collection of data for yield estimation and long-term block history
• Provide support for all tasks and record keeping requirements.
• Adhere to company health and safety standards

About You

• Horticultural or Viticultural degree or diploma and/or demonstrated vineyard experience
• Strong computer skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Time management and planning abilities
• Ability to work flexible hours over vintage
• A current full driver’s licence
• Passionate and keen to develop into other roles in the business.
