Located on Yagara Country, Brisbane Powerhouse is Queensland's home of contemporary culture and art - a magnificent power station of the 1920s reborn as an arts centre on the Brisbane River.

With over 1,250 performances and events each year, we offer a program of music, theatre, comedy, dance, film, visual arts, in-conversation, and the digital arts.

Brisbane Powerhouse features two main stage theatres, three smaller performance venues, gallery spaces, two restaurants and bars, corporate facilities and one of the best river views in Brisbane.

The role

As a member of the Visitor Services team, you will focus primarily on front line services, providing an exceptional customer experience to all visitors through the delivery of effective Front of House, Ticketing and Reception operations.

As this role is often the first point of contact for our visitors, you will be responsible for delivering Front of House operations and wayfinding services while ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and unique experience for all visitors to our precinct.  

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• The ability to work to a flexible schedule, including regular evening and weekend work
• Well-developed verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise successfully with a diverse client and patron base while delivering high-quality customer service
• Front of House experience providing patron services in a theatre company, large venue, cinema, major festival and/or entertainment environment
• Familiarity with operational processes as relevant to ticketing operations
• Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions and respond quickly and calmly to unexpected occurrences
• Fitness to deliver static and mobile interpretation, including but not limited to guided tours and other programs, lifting objects weighing up to two kilograms, standing, walking and talking for extended periods in a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces
• Working knowledge of WH&S and RSA legislation
