What is the opportunity?

As a Vice President within the Institutional Client Credit Management: Portfolio Management & Analytics Team (“PM&A”), you will be a leader managing a team as well as your own portfolio of clients including hedge fund managers, regulated asset managers and pension plans in support of the various trading businesses of RBC Capital Markets (CM) and Investor and Treasury Services (I&TS).

What will you do?

• Lead, develop, and train a high performing team in which the members produce insightful, high quality work on a timely basis, managing their assigned portfolios in accordance with policies and procedures within the approved risk process.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Group Risk Management, ICCM Transaction Management, and other internal partners.
• Maintain a strong understanding of RBC risk policies.
• Engage with clients directly as needed for due diligence meetings and information requests with a goal of providing excellent client service within RBC risk parameters.
• Ensure all portfolio risk metrics are met and submitted to risk management in a timely manner as well as lead/participate in client due diligence calls as required.
• Complete assigned projects and other duties in an efficient and effective manner that supports business initiatives.
• Participate in other primary responsibilities that may arise from time to time in support of risk assessment and continuous monitoring.
• Own or participate in ad hoc projects as they arise.

What you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• Graduate Degree with a focus in business, finance, economics, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years of Credit experience working within financial institutions.
• Understanding and knowledge of fund industry and securities regulations governing funds.
• Demonstrated strong problem solving skills.

Additional preferred skills:

• Prior experience or strong understanding of RBC risk policies.
• Strong understanding of Global Markets’ trading products.
• People management experience.
• Ability to interpret, explain and communicate opinions and recommendations using strong verbal and written skills.
