 Our Financial Services (“FS”) Valuations Modelling and Economics (“VME”) business, part of EY’s Strategy and Transactions (“SaT”) service line, works with financial services clients across banking and capital markets, insurance, and the wealth and asset management sectors.

 EY Oceania’s FS VME team has grown significantly in recent years. To support our ambitious plans, we are now looking to strengthen our FS VME practice at the Manager level.

 Working in Valuations Modelling and Economics, you will get the opportunity to work with major corporate and private equity clients, investment banks, funds and government departments providing them with valuation support and advice on a wide variety of transaction and advisory assignments.

We work closely with our clients to understand their issues and help design sophisticated solutions to execute and support them through a range of outcomes. We are looking for a Valuation Manager within the Valuation, Modelling & Economics team in our Sydney office. This role is offered on a flexible full-time basis.

As part of this market leading team, your role will provide high quality analysis and/or financial models for client engagements, including financial analysis and research in relation to the client’s issues, projects and new strategic initiatives.

Your key responsibilities

Analyse financial and other information in relation to our clients

Liaise with clients regarding business performance, cash flow forecasts and prospects and understanding key valuation drivers

Use current technology and tools to enhance service delivery.

Contribute to an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment

Leading teams of valuation and modelling professionals to deliver high quality advice to EY’s clients

Managing assignments/engagements by ensuring that EY’s services are client focused, clear, accurate and well presented in a timely manner as agreed with the client and team.

Actively keeping abreast of current and emerging developments and service offerings

Applying new knowledge and learnings to client engagements and firm projects

Providing guidance and expertise to team members and clients on technical issues/practices

Providing leadership and helping further develop the VME team within the market for valuations services

Skills and attributes for success

Interest and aptitude in advising market leading financial services clients in Banking and Capital Market, Wealth and Asset Management and Insurance

Demonstrate experiences in the application of performing different valuation methodologies and techniques for different purposes including but not limited to M&A transaction, financial reporting and tax compliances.

Prior valuation experiences in valuation firms, equity research, investment banking or corporate finance environment is highly desirable.

The role requires a candidate to possess 4 to 6 years of work experiences.

Strong numerical and analytic skills including intermediate to advanced level of MS Excel and financial modelling skills.

Superior project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines on multiple client engagements.

Strong excel, financial modelling, communication and report writing skills

Demonstration of interpersonal and client relationship skills and the ability to build internal and external relationships

An ability to manage multiple commitments and stakeholders

Progress towards/completion of CA and/or CFA qualifications or an equivalent post graduate qualification would be advantageous
