The Role

Reporting to our Senior Product Development Manager you will play a key role in the design and delivery of customer friendly, engaging, and functional products delivering best in class digital experiences. 

This exciting new role is for an experienced Digital UX Product Designer with strong business analysis skills to join a market leader across Australia and New Zealand, with significant growth in US operations.

What You’ll Be Doing (but not limited to)

  • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to help design products that meet customers’ needs, from problem analysis all the way through to deployment, taking a user-cantered design approach.
  • Delivering insights and present recommendations along with complex design concepts to executive level stakeholders.
  • Facilitate customer discovery activities to help shape the features and roadmap to ensure we continue to deliver simple and engaging experiences.
  • Run workshops to help uncover business requirements, and to align the product team and stakeholders on the problem space and the vision.
  • Effectively communicate the vision of the product to key stakeholders including the product team by creating high quality, function prototypes in Figma.
  • Assist in testing activities to validate concepts and ideas with customers for insights and feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with product managers, designers and engineering teams to identify and develop a minimum viable product.
  • Support the implementation of initiatives within cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure a quality product by working closely with team members throughout delivery.
  • Translate business requirements into functional requirements to inform build and deliver.
  • Creation of documentation supporting the design process, such as journey maps, personas etc.

 About You

  • 4+ years’ experience as a Product Designer - with UI/UX experience.
  • Demonstrable success in developing and leading innovative product development projects.
  • Solid understanding of UX principles and design thinking, and familiar with modern software development processes within an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a passion for solving complex problems.
  • You are committed to quality outcomes with strong business analyst skills.
  • Experience using Figma to produce designs and build prototypes.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver features.
  • Ability to translate business requirements, user insights and design mock-ups, into high fidelity functional prototypes.

Methods and tools:

  • Design Thinking and Human Centred design
  • Experience working with agile software. E.g. Atlassian software Jira/Confluence
  • Experience using tools for UX/UI and visual design, especially Figma and/or Adobe XD etc.

Competencies and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a broad range of individuals at all levels of an organisational structure.
  • Experience with product management software or similar (e.g. Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Microsoft Project).
  • Experience working in a Financial Services organisation or similar.
  • Lateral thinking and superior problem solving skills.
  • An ability to remain flexible and seek alternative solutions to problems.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
