FirstMate is a charity that supports the health and wellbeing of people across the commercial seafood sector. Our goal is to offer people, and their whanau and businesses the support they need to better navigate the pressures and complexities that come with the job and rise to any potential challenges.
FirstMate is run by people who understand what it means to be part of New Zealand's dynamic and challenging seafood industry.
We are looking for a person who is passionate about helping others, with experience of the seafood sector, and who is motivated by the challenge of being part of a new and evolving organisation that operates via a nationwide network of regionally-based ‘Navigators’.
Reporting to the Trust Chair, this is an incredibly varied role where you will provide a range of operational and administrative support to enable delivery of FirstMate’s wellbeing support services. You will offer administration support to the Trustees, develop and maintain strong relationships with other key stakeholders, including MPI, and liaise with Navigator Management to coordinate FirstMate’s on-the-ground support functions, plus anything else that might find its way to your desk on any given day!
We are looking for candidates with the following skills/experience:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be flexible, self-motivated and show great attention to detail. You will have exceptional organisation, communication, and relationship management skills. Most importantly, you will be a team player prepared to go the extra mile, because there will be times when successful delivery of FirstMate’s functions requires it.
FirstMate’s team is located all around New Zealand, so the location of this role is flexible – you can work from home, from anywhere in New Zealand, with travel for on-boarding and training to be negotiated.
If you enjoy variety and feeling like you are making a difference to the lives of others, then please apply now with a CV and cover letter by 20 January 2022.
