Job Purpose and Impact

The Sourcing Specialistwill provide subject matter experience in the efficient movement and transportation of materials and products across a range of transport modes. In this role, you will manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships and rely on current, up to date knowledge of industry market practices and trends to find the most practical and cost effective solutions for a range of freight sourcing activities.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide industry market updates related to the transportation related activities of the business to inform strategic decisions.
• Foster key stakeholder relationships internally and externally for all freight sourcing activities.
• Analyze moderately complex transportation operations practices to resolve process and cost improvement opportunities.
• Apply a general understanding of transportation and logistics practices and procedures to assist in negotiating freight prices and contract terms for customers.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the fundamentals in transportation, logistics, operations or supply chain management.
• Demonstrated ability to do tactical sourcing for business and shipment execution.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make strategic business decisions.
