Based in North Sydney and reporting to the Transport Planning Leader, we have an opportunity for an entry to medium level Economist ready to take the next step in their career.  This role has a blend of both technical aspects and project delivery. This role will predominantly support principal Transport Economist in undertaking economic appraisal, cost benefit analysis, economic modelling and develop business cases on transport projects.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Understand and manage client expectations to ensure successful project delivery;
  • Assist with developing and growing the transport economic business in NSW;
  • Ensure works undertaken are in accordance with relevant standards, guidelines and local authority requirements;
  • Work closely with other parts of the business as an internal service provider;
  • Partner and establish solid working relationships with external clients;

Qualifications - External

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in economic appraisal, cost benefit analysis, economic modelling and development of business cases
  • Excellent written skills for high quality business case development and economic analysis report
  • High level excel skills for developing well-structured and presentable economic models
  • Project management capability for managing small to medium consultancy projects by delivering quality consultancy report and complying to internal project control system.
  • A degree in economics or in transport studies.
