Founded in 1983, Bimcor is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bell Canada and manages ~$30 billion of pension assets for the Bell Canada group of companies. With its office in Montreal, Bimcor ranks as one of the largest private sector pension fund managers in Canada. Bimcor engages external firms with specialty mandates to assist in the management of the assets.

The Trader/Analyst is part of the Investment Team and accountable for money market investments, cash management operations, currency hedging and monitoring of financial markets. In addition to his primary role, the Trader/Analyst will assist in the monitoring and management of fixed income portfolios and develop insights on investment themes.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor liquidity requirements in various portfolios of the pension funds, managing the repo program and investing excess cash balances
• Monitor foreign currency exposures, implement currency hedges and execute spot transactions to meet foreign exchange cash requirements
• Help with trade execution and monitoring in other areas
• Build relationships with trading counterparties, peers and other market participants
• Assist in the monitoring of portfolios, notably with regard to implementation of rebalancing policies
• Monitor macro-economic developments and financial market themes and share insights with the Investment Team
• Perform research to identify and evaluate investment opportunities
• Propose ways to improve existing processes and workflows and participate to other projects as required

Qualifications/Competencies:

• University degree with a concentration in finance or a related field. Graduate degree preferred
• Completed CFA Level 1 or Chartered Investment Manager designation
• Three to seven years of related work experience, including trading fixed income and foreign exchange instruments
• Bond portfolio management and derivative trading experience are assets
• Strong analytical skills and comprehensive knowledge of financial instruments
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to accuracy
• Mature, flexible, highly motivated team player with good communication skills
• Bilingualism french and english

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
