Job Description

You will be working within teams to monitor, manages and continually improve NZDF's ICT. You will  work closely with other product teams, NZDF customers and business owners to deliver effect to the NZDF.

Ideally we are looking for candidates who have experience working within Cloud, Enterprise Applications / Citrix and Common Operating Environments.

As a Test and Automation Engineer, you will ensure that automation and testing is included in product and solution design upfront, with a mind to maximise automation. You will be responsible for informing development teams of any issues encountered during testing, highlight areas for refinement and provide recommendations based on whether a solution satisfies functional requirements, acceptance and release criteria.

You will be responsible for the test strategies, plans and specifications in use across the product family as well as contributing to similar work in other domains and acceptance testing enabling other NZDF stakeholders to gain assurance on the quality of features and products.

Locations available to be based in are Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington, or Burnham. Please indicate in your cover letter your preferred location.

What we need

Technical skills:

Knowledge of or exposure to a combination of the following:

Required

  • Test automation tools e.g. Selenium;
  • Powershell, Ansible or other build automation tools;
  • Defining test strategies and plans;
  • Being able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
  • Defect detection and resolution management;
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.

Specific to teams

  • Experience with Citrix and/or Citrix Cloud;
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint;
  • Experience with Identity Management, Active Directory and/or Azure Active Directory;
  • Experience with PKI.

Additional skills:

Experience in, or knowledge of:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Being able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
