EY is the only professional services firm with a separate business unit (“FSO”) that is dedicated to the financial services marketplace. Our FSO teams have been at the forefront of every event that has reshaped and redefined the financial services industry. We are looking for a Technology Business Analyst, with experience working in the Insurance industry, to join our FSO Data and Analytics team in either Sydney or Melbourne. 
We implement information-driven strategies and systems that help grow, optimize and protect client organizations. We go beyond strategy and provide end to end implementation of real-life data environments and have some of the best architects, project managers, business analysts, data scientists, big data engineers, developers and consultants in the region.

Responsibilities

• Work with diverse stakeholders to identify their challenges with data that can be addressed using various Analysis techniques.
• Be a part of a culture that focuses on delivering excellence for our clients and work with an awesome team of people to work with and access to cutting edge technologies.

• Be involved in all aspects of the Project life cycle, including Strategy, Road-Mapping, Architecture, Implementation and Development in order to gain maximum exposure to set you up for a successful consulting career.

Experience

• Experience working in either Insurance or Financial Services 
• Creating requirements specifications, analysing requirements, creating visual models, facilitating workshop sessions, and using the necessary business analyst tools. 
• Experience in engaging with and managing both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Working with SQL databases and database querying languages. 
• With programming skills such as Python and R.
• Strong consulting experience and background, including engaging directly with clients.
• Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches).
• Hands on experience working technologies/platform e.g. Power BI, Microsoft suite, Jira/Confluence, Azure DevOps.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Exceptional communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and think critically.
• Technical reconciliation and reporting skills.
• Some development experience would be advantageous but not essential.
