Mō te tÅ«nga | About the role

The Team Leader Clinical Practice (TLCP) is an integral part of the Puketai Leadership Team. This position oversees a service model which seeks to engage therapeutically with the tamariki and rangatahi that come into our care. The TLCP leads the delivery of quality assessments and the planning and programming of therapeutic services within the residence and two supervised group homes. Managing the case leader team, the TLCP will provide regular and planned supervision and ensure compliance with the National Care Standards. The TLCP will develop and strengthen local relationships with key stakeholders to enhance quality service provision. The TLCP will have a network of colleagues from other Care and Protection residences and will be supported by the Manager Clinical Services.

Key requirements of the role include: 

  • Demonstrated evidence of ability to commit to the vision, mission, and goals of Oranga Tamariki
  • A comprehensive understanding of the impact of trauma across the lifespan
  • Supporting staff to ensure they have a better understanding of tamariki and rangatahi's needs and are aware of the support services and resources that are available to address these.
  • A Masters level qualification in psychology, education, nursing (mental health) or social work
  • Proven experience in working with allied health practitioners and education providers to ensure high quality therapeutic services
  • Experience in leading a team in a clinical or therapeutic setting (multi-disciplinary setting)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  • A practical background in process planning for efficient service delivery
  • Contributing and supporting national and regional service delivery performance and practice improvement initiatives
  • An ability to anticipate and resolve problems and make decisions based on risks
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices, knowledge of tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi / The Treaty of Waitangi, and how these help us be more responsive to support tamariki, whānau and families
  • A current, clean driver licence

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $99,315.90 and $110,351.00 dependant on experience, with tenure-based progression steps available above this range.
