We are currently seeking an exceptional person to fill the above role for He Puna Waiora based in North Shore Hospital Hospital. These are newly created positions to accelerate MÄori Health gain.
The main purpose of this position is to enhance our clinical care through the use of mÄtauranga MÄori. This will see you providing MÄori advice, guidance and support to tangata whai i te ora and their whÄnau, undertaking cultural assessments and cultural intervention and supporting the cultural development of the wider team.
This role is based at He Puna Waiora Inpatient Unit, and will be closely supported by our Taurawhiri, KaumÄtua and Cultural Team Leader.
The position would suit a person who is proficient in Te Reo Rangatira me Åna Tikanga, and is passionate about improving MÄori health and wellbeing. Experience in mental health and addictions are desirable but not essential. As is an understanding of MÄori community support mechanisms. A good understanding of MÄori health models and the concept of whÄnau ora is essential.
