At Te TÄhuhu o te MÄtauranga - Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to Äkonga and whÄnau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

About our group and team
Te Mahau - Te Pae Aronui (Operations and Integration). We use information, insights and service design functions to help the three Te Mahau frontline groups design and deliver services for our sector. We service and support the frontline groups and play an integration role between the enabling functions and our frontline services.
Our group provides nationally consistent service design, practice guidance and systems to support the integrated teams led by Directors of Education providing flexible and responsive services.
We deliver national resourcing functions, including inclusive learning support, and national regulatory functions.
Our group consists of what was previously National Office Sector Enablement and Support (SE&S), Parent Information and Community Intelligence (PICI) and Evidence, Data and Knowledge (EDK) teams, excluding the Chief Economist position.
MŠtēnei tūranga - About this role
The Ministry of Education is offering a fantastic opportunity to join the Migrant, Refugee and International Education team in our Maungawhau - Mt Eden office.
Reporting to the Manager ESOL, Migrant, Refugee and International Education, this role supports a range of functions associated with the work of the team which manages ESOL provision in schools throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
The Support Officer ESOL will support a wide range of functions for a team of 20 people located throughout the country, including arranging and booking travel, invoicing, responding to emails and phone calls, and general office administration.

Are you outgoing, intelligent, and independent with excellent organisational skills and the ability to solve problems? Do you have a positive can-do attitude and a proactive nature ensuring you are always looking for ways to improve the work of the team?
If you develop good working relationships with a diverse range of people and enjoy taking responsibility and being busy, we would love to have you join our team.
You will have previous experience working in a busy office environment and be confident in your ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external people across all levels of our business. Experience in a NZ primary/intermediate/secondary school office would be an advantage.
