About the role

As a Strategic Workforce Analyst, you will research, develop and maintain an overview of the workforce coordination environment within Central District and provide advice on its effectiveness and direction to the District Leadership Team including analysis and best practice to enable efficient and effective optimum staffing levels which will maintain and improve the service to Central District.

 

You will be responsible for the overview of managing rosters in a fast-paced changeable environment whilst managing competing demands. You are self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and have a problem-solving mindset.

 

In this role, you will also be supervising staff and managing the workload of the team. You will need to lead by example and help keep the team motivated and engaged.

This role is based in Central DHQ based in Palmerston North and the successful applicant must reside in or near the area.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identifies and develops techniques and processes to enable effective and efficient forecasting for the District to ensure we deploy to beat demand
  • Provide analysis on organisational risk around leave management and trends and highlights issues relating to the ability to meet that demand
  • Identifies training needs and assists with the development of this training for the District
  • Acts as role model for the team and provides leadership and direction

  • Previous Workforce Management experience is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to build, maintain and sustain strong relationships
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience using Excel
  • Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude
  • For constabulary applicants – you will need a current PCT and a non-core Children's worker vetting is required

This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is “to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them.”
