Job Purpose and Impact
The Sr. Software Engineer - React will work with frontend technologies on the Digital Experience Platform (DXP). The DXP enables Cargill to quickly build customer facing web applications that are secure, scalable and at a competitive cost. The DXP enables Cargill’s digital future. As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will join a passionate, empowered engineering product team that discover and deliver solutions to complex customer problems.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with user experience (UX) engineers to produce shared user interface components
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
- Implement modern engineering practices to ensure product quality practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand and evaluate business requirements.
- Establish governance check points, best practices, and standards.
- Provide designs, prototypes and implementations incorporating software engineering best practices, tools and monitoring according to industry standards.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Mentoring and supporting other engineers on the team.
- Other duties in support of building solutions that solve customer problems
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of four years of related work experience
- Minimum of two years of experience developing using Javascript-based frameworks like Ract or Angular
- Experience building systems using microservices or service-oriented architecture patterns
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an agile software development environment
- Experience in writing automated unit and integration tests
- Experience developing scalable cloud based systems
- Development experience using open-source technologies and frameworks
- Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring, telemetry, logging, reporting and dashboarding
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools
- Experience in building high performance applications that are scalable and resilient
- Ability to create clear and detailed technical diagrams and documentation
