The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokias Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The NI SR Technical Expertise Centre team is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team in supporting Nokiat's industry leading Service Router products.
Some of the key functions of the 7x50 series of routers are: broadband network gateways for residential internet access, multiservice edge router for business VPNs, cloud and data center interconnect services, mobile backhaul aggregation and the mobile packet core (4G LTE and 5G).
An NI SR TEC Engineer strives to have mastery of the supported products. From low-level implementation to application-level behavioral know-how, a TEC Engineer can confidently represent and speak on behalf of the product. The ideal candidate is one who also craves for heuristic based work and enjoys the technical challenge of solving complex problems.

As part of our team, you will:
Customer Support
Interfaces to regional TACs (Technical Assistance Centers), Customer Account Teams, other Business Units, R&D and Product Management for technical consultation and Customer support concerns
Debugs complex product deployments, resolves complicated product problems by applying both established procedures and creative alternatives
Maintains problem status and problem resolution records
Prepares reports on problems encountered and methods of resolution applied ensuring overall system integrity and reliability
Provides emergency cell phone support to regional TACs on a global basis 24/7
Travel may be required
Writes technical knowlege base articles, field Alerts
Develop internal / external web tools and scripts
New Product Introduction activities & Professional Services delivery
We work with the latest beta release of the products to spearhead the delivery of deep product knowledge to internal technical and sales teams and be the subject matter expert in product trial activities
Collaboration with regional business center to co-develop and provide new release workshop to internal support and sales teams
Maintains awareness of new features and releases through regular updates with R&D, Product Management
Your skills and experience
You have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to drive customer calls
5 years of working knowledge of: Routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP)
IP/MPLS Protocols including LDP, RSVP and Segment Routing
IP/MPLS Services (VLL, VPLS, VPRN, IP Tunnels, EVPN)
IPSec
Broadband and WiFi aggregation (BNG/BRAS/WLAN-GW, CGNAT)
Quality of Service (QoS)
Multicast services and traffic delivery
IPv6
Experience using Test Equipment for IP and SONET/SDH/Legacy protocols (IXIA, Spirent, etc)
It would be nice if you also had:
Certifications such as SRC, CCNA/CCNP, and/or JNCIA/JNCIS.
Nokia products experience (e.g. 7950XRS, 7750SR, 7450ESS, 7250 IXR, VSR)
Experience with a scripting language. i.e. XML, and Python.
Skillset in Linux administration (Red Hat / CentOS) and experience troubleshooting software applications in VM/Linux environment.
Experience operating VM environments and servers. i.e. ESXi and KVM.
