Responsibilities

This Software Engineering Manager role will have a measurable impact in customer growth and satisfaction. You will be responsible for building highly scalable, robust, and reusable solutions and driving key engineering fundamentals OKRs in an agile development team. You will work closely with our senior leadership, Program Managers, Data Scientists, Designers & Customers and contribute towards the vision and stratgey of our service, leading end to end customer and support engineer experiences. We use a variety of technologies in building our products such as: C#, CosmosDB, Azure Cognitive Services, Service Fabric, Azure ML, Web API, React, Redux, TypeScript etc.

As a Software Engineering manager on this team, you will have ample opportunities to hire, lead and grow your team.

Key roles & responsibilities include:

• Manage a team of software engineers and be a technical and operational leader
• Hire great talent, foster quality-focused work culture, and create robust career plans to grow team members
• Working with Azure Product/Service teams and customers to implement scalable self-serve solutions
• Ensure high quality, secure, scalable and performant code
• Support customers and livesite in a DevOps model.
• Deal with ambiguity, bring clarity, create energy to drive projects end-to-end

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years development experience building reliable, distributed systems at scale
• Minimum of 1 year of experience leading and managing a team of software engineers
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP) and large data systems 
• BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related engineering fields a bonus

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Previous experience in Data Science/ML technology is a plus
• A positive attitude and a passion for quality-focused software development.
• Proven track record of driving results and collaborating across multiple disciplines
• Experience in building, retaining and growing a high performing team
• Cross group communication and collaboration and dealing with ambiguity.
