We’re looking for a talented and passionate Squad Technical Lead to join our team. You will lead a small, autonomous, agile team to deliver both internal and external applications; built on a modern hybrid cloud platform using the latest micro-services architecture. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Create new customer-facing web applications using the latest technologies which will shape the future of banking for RBC

  • Lead the development practice within an Agile product team comprised of technical, product and business team members working to deliver exceptional products

  • Work closely with your fellow leaders and team members to plan and execute the team’s technical / product vision

  • Provide mentorship, coaching and hands-on guidance to developers on your team

  • Empower your team to produce high quality code via instilling best practices

  • Deploy often and continuously look to experiment, iterate and improve upon products, processes and code

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

MUST HAVE:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science / related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience with Java and / or JavaScript

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership position

  • Deep technical expertise in at least one area of web development (front end, back end, infrastructure, etc.), along with a willingness to learn and support the team where needed

  • Experience working within the full professional software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing and deployments

  • Excellent communication and the ability to translate technical details into human terms

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Experience with facilitating team sessions following an Agile methodology (Kanban, Scrum, etc.)

  • Experience with solution architecture, and a track record of anticipating and architecting solutions to overcome challenges

  • Understanding of DevOps / continuous delivery deployment processes
