We are offering an opportunity to join our world class Commercial organisation in the role of Specialist – MRO for our Australian and New Zealand procurement group based in Perth, WA
This role will deliver on the defined goods strategy and will take full ownership of the portfolio. The objectives of this role will be to refine and enhance the category strategy, execute contract management, enhance our digital capabilities, and continue to create a strong supplier relationship management system.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a Procurement professional or candidate experienced in commercial consultancy that can confidently execute against a robust regional strategy and contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable outcomes and deliver optimal value to Rio Tinto.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor, Regional Sourcing you will:
Own the implementation of a comprehensive regional category management strategy and the development of agreements to minimise total cost and maximise value that will drive competitive advantage and meet Rio Tinto governance requirements
Undertake rigorous fact base development based on internal requirements and transactional efficiencies that will be the basis of ensuring we are realising value in the portfolio
Systemising the analytical process through development and maintenance of customised supplier databases and risk reporting tools
Ensuring all projects are delivered and meet the requirements outlined in Rio Tinto’s Procurement and Group Policies, Standards and Guidelines
Being open and transparent in your relationships and able to develop a high level of trust and work in a collaborative environment with internal and external stakeholders
Put in place a strong supplier relationship management structure to strengthen partnership and value creation for both Rio Tinto and our supply partners
Manage and develop internal and external stakeholder relationships across Australia and New Zealand
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will have:
Strong project management, analytical skills, problem solving and customer/supplier relationship management skills
Ability to achieve outcomes through partnership, collaboration, and positive influence
Highly organised, systematic and detail oriented
Ability to manage a broad internal/external stakeholder base and communicate succinctly verbally and in written form
Experience working in commercial or financial consultancy or strategy
Experience in category management, sourcing or supply chain, preference in the field of MRO or Indirect goods - Desirable
Degree qualification in a relevant discipline - Desirable
