About the Role:

 Reporting to the Senior Manager, Wireless Core SDM (Subscriber Data Management). The successful candidate will function Senior Adviser Engineering providing technical leadership and help our solution architect design and execute the future of our SDM team

The successful candidate will be one of our Subject Matter Experts for SDM helping to deliver high-level advance support for Bell business teams and external customers as required. This individual will support the 5G SA Core deployment with major focus on NOKIA SDL deployment.  The 5G SDM work will include the automation, security and architectural/engineering tasks across four platforms (UDM, AUSF, 5GEIR and SDL). This person will work in conjunction with the SDM 5G-product owner for the 5G SA Core deployment success and beyond.

 Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

• Work with vendors to build our 5G SDM elements (UDM,AUSF,5G EiR & SDL)
• Deploy with NOKIA the 5G elements in production environment to meet Bell business requirements
• Work with the Solution Architect to design and deploy our current SDM elements in the Cloud.
• Investigating complex issues on the 5G deployments for Bell production network
• Investigate complex issue in the virtual elements deployment in production environment
• Able to plan, design and deploy SDM elements; both new and legacy nodes.
• Receive, track and do initial triage/analysis of reported complex issues to assign priority
• Apply your experience of SDM call flows to identify unexpected behavior in the network and effectively troubleshoot using mobile, network logging tools etc. to establish root causes
• Help to draft/craft technical root cause analysis results/position statement that addresses the impact of issues, what will happen when it is fixed and what are the potential workarounds if we didn’t solve the problem
• Provide detailed technical information, logs etc with device vendors to help resolve product issues identified in root cause analysis/solution
• As a subject matter expert, you would be responsible for mentoring & training new grads in the team primarily and bringing the rest of the team up to speed on 5G elements
• Ability to write scripts, develop workarounds to resolve issues efficiently & expediently
• Efficiently manage time while assigned to multiple concurrent projects, effectively prioritizing and adapting in a fast-paced challenging environment
• Provide support to members of Bell Wireless Core Network team, other internal Bell teams and device vendors to ensure product issues and impacts are well understood to maximize product quality and to meet overall business needs in terms of time to market
• Think out of box and beyond to resolve unique consumer end user experience/situations

 Critical Skills/ Competencies:

• 3+ Year experience in 3GPP Telco Database Management Specifically SDM.
• 3+ years college Diploma or University Degree in Computer Engineering or Related experiences
• Cloud computing experience for Wireless Core Telecom products. Especially SDM
• Awareness of telecommunication standards/technologies (SDM, 3G, 4G LTE, VoLTE, 5G)
• Ability to plan, lead and execute projects within the SDM environment (Specifically on nodes such as HSS, UDM&AUSF,5G EiR, SDL, OneNDS, EiR etc.)
• Hands on and working knowledge of Wireless Core protocols ( LDAP,MAP, Diameter, SS7 and IP Networking)
• Good working knowledge of a Telecom Wireless Core (Voice and Data)
• Good Database scripting ability specifically SPML (other language will be a bonus)
• Ability to work in a fluid environment, handle ambiguity and be adaptable to change.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
• Process management experience (completing process maps, and value-stream-mappings etc…)

  Preferred Competencies:

• Relevant Project Management Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM etc…
• Agile experience in both a software-focused and networking-focused environments.
• Awareness of telecommunication standards/technologies (SDM, 3G, 4G LTE, VoLTE, 5G)
• Telecom LDAP Database experience
• 5G NOKIA SDM products experience
