Name and description of the hiring department

The BCE Inc. Benefits Group is looking for a Benefits Manager in order to provide consulting services to a clientele comprised of business units from Bell Canada and its affiliates. This team is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing benefits programs for the employees of various divisions in order to support business strategies.

BCE Inc. is a subsidiary of Bell Canada, specialized in human resources management and corporate services. Its mandate is to provide internal consulting services to Bell Canada and its affiliates.
 Job Duties/Accountabilities

The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects that may involve:

  • Development of new benefits programs including cost analysis, recommendation and implementation of these programs
  • Preparation of presentation material and various calculations related to employee benefits for all audiences, including upper management
  • Support to various groups including human resources, labour relations, finance, legal and payroll in the interpretation and application of policies
  • Collaboration with the external administrator and consultants to address day-to-day issues

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-pace and ambiguous environment with the ability to prioritize tasks and information effectively
  • High level of initiative, displaying the ability to recognize and anticipate what needs to be done
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional project teams & colleagues
  • Strong team orientation
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze results and provide recommendations
  • Strong sense of urgency; results and action oriented to deliver
  • Knowledge of benefits programs, labor standards and disability plans is an asset

 Critical Qualifications/Competencies

  • University degree
  • Between 3 to 8 years of related experience
  • Bilingual speaking and writing required (French and English)
  • Willingness to specialize in Benefits
    High degree of proficiency in all MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint and Word); knowledge of SAP (HR) an asset
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team spirit
