We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Privacy Team, where you will have the opportunity to impact millions of people daily, build world class Privacy, Compliance and Diagnostics systems, and help shape the future of Office, M365. What we work on:
Our team works on cross-app, cross-platform (including web), cross-company features and capabilities to protect user’s privacy. We work with several teams across Office, Windows, Edge, Teams and other M365 products to solve technical challenges associated with coherent privacy experiences, controls and data leak preventions.
We are driving privacy score card and adoption of privacy best practices across M365 – what data we collect, the options we give to our customers and how we protect them. This is increasingly strategic to the M365 business and at the forefront for privacy strategy for the company.
Responsibilities
We’re looking for a candidate with great judgement, solid engineering skills, and the ability and desire to learn and go deep into new technologies.
You will be guiding the team to develop innovative solutions while working across products and platforms so great versatility and learning skills are a must.
You will work on UX components, shared APIs and a scalable backend store for building end to end privacy experiences.
You will have access to cutting-edge technologies, will find the best solution for our users and customers, and will lead with code. When you see something that we could be doing better let us know and help us improve!
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent industry working experience (4+ years of software development experience)
3+ year professional experience writing applications using an object oriented programming language (examples include: C++, Java, C#, ES6 (ECMAScript 6) /JavaScript, Python, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in building and shipping production-grade software or services
Relevant Experience in highly scalable web services, Client SDKs and working knowledge of JavaScript/React/Angular or another similar web stack is highly desirable
Demonstrated experience with coaching and mentoring other engineers.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with people representing diverse points of view
Willingness to work in an organization with evolving responsibilities and a wide variety of work
