The Azure IoT client team is looking for motivated engineers excited about joining the new world of IoT. The embedded device C SDK ensures portability on a range of platforms, such as, Linux, Windows, OSX, iOS, Android, and different flavors of Real-Time-Operating-Systems. We enable connectivity for devices and gateways using protocols like HTTP/AMQP/MQTT and more.

Responsibilities

Members on the team value engineering practices that ensure high quality code - code reviews, requirements, unit testing, TDD, etc. - and continuously look to improve problem solving, design, coding and debugging skills. We value passion, creativity, accountability, and the desire to learn new technical areas.

  • Work cross teams to take new IoT concepts from inception to production
  • Design and implement highly efficient code that scales to hundreds of millions of devices at minimal operational costs
  • Enable advanced connectivity mechanisms between the IoT services and its devices
  • Implementation / integration of standardized, industry-wide protocols such as MQTTS, AMQPS, HTTPS and Websockets
  • Design and develop efficient, airtight security primitives for connecting to the cloud
  • Work directly with major customers in the industry to both diagnose and provide solutions for their technical scenarios
  • Target device platforms including freeRTOS, AzureRTOS, Linux, Windows and iOS

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

  • 2+ years of professional experience developing and shipping software products
  • 2+ years Coding skills in C99

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in C languages for embedded devices.
  • Experience with one or more of these platforms: Linux, Windows, OSX, iOS, Android, RTOS
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with Open-Source development and best practices
  • Experience with computer networking and security is a plus
  • Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated openness to feedback and effectiveness at collaborating with diverse groups of people
  • Demonstrated independence, bias for action, and tolerance for

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
