What is the opportunity?

The DNA (Data & Analytics) group is responsible for enabling and implementing RBC’s Data Vision. We build data-driven services and platforms aimed to serve our vision of making every single client interaction informed by Artificial Intelligent within next three years. DNA works with petabytes of data.

DNA Intelligent Operations team aims to make commitment to operational excellence easier for teams by promoting operational excellence and by enabling teams.

Join the exciting DNA Intelligent Operations team! We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to directly impact in the way RBC interacts with RBC’s clients by designing and building new systems and products.

What will you do?

• Apply design thinking, agile mindset, software engineering principles, and data science principles in working with clients, peers, other technical teams, and management teams to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver products to help our clients improve on their experience

• Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, and new processes to drive innovation

• Act as the Centre of Expertise in all manner of product-centric data mining activities including reporting, data analysis, aggregation and management while ensuring compliance and privacy guidelines are strictly adhered to.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

• Eager to learn and learn fast, enjoy a fast-paced environment

• Self-directed, demonstrate leadership potential and a team player

• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills

Nice-to-have

• Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related field

• Driven to provide the best client experience via technology

• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to clients

• Experience in communicating with clients, peers, other technical teams, and management teams to collect requirements, describe software features, and technical designs
