We are searching for a Chromecast developer to be part of a dedicated team focused on the development and support of our Chromecast receiver - used on sites like TSN, CTV, Crave and many more! Our developers work closely with strategists, content producers and design team members to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies. Development, UAT and product support are all elements of this position.  The right individual for this role will be a motivated and energetic developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented and takes extreme pride in their work.

 Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

• Development of robust and user-friendly applications
• Assist external development agencies with integration of third-party services/ platforms
• Work closely with Project Lead and members of the Development Team to ensure timely completion of deliverables
• Communicate to the Development Lead and Project Managers with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays
• Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide innovative solutions
• Create, revise and maintain design/technical documentation
• All other duties as assigned

 Critical Skills/ Competencies:

• At least 5 years experience in JavaScript
• At least 2 years experiece with Chromecast SDK
• College Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
• Experiencing writing/ automating unit tests
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, handling events, reusability of methods.
• Debugging skills for code, desktop and mobile browsers
• Knowledge of JIRA, Git
• Knowledge of scrum and agile methodologies
• Excellent proficiency with developing responsive applications 
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot compatibility issues
• Ability to setup and configure local development environments
• Experience with planning and writing technical documentation
• Knowledge of internet security and best practices
• Superior problem solving and risk management skills
• Team player with the desire to own projects and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Detail oriented with good time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
• Keeps up to date on industry best practices and technology

 Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Video player development (video.js, Shaka player, HTML5, JW Player)
• Experience with third party analytics libraries, (Adobe Heartbeat, Braze, New Relic, mParticle)
• Experience working with Google IMA
