Responsibilities

We are looking for a Site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, who will be responsible for supporting and managing implementation of EHS management processes in Australia.  This is a highly influential position reporting to the APAC Regional EHS Manager for DC Operations.

  • Serving as the primary contact for the implementation of the EHS programs for specific Microsoft Datacenters within Region.
  • Being accountable for EHS performance metrics and implementation of annual improvement plans.
  • Periodically inspecting, auditing, and reviewing safe work practices to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct workplace risk/exposure assessments for various classes of hazards.
  • Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis, so that corrective and preventive actions can be identified, communicated globally, and implemented.
  • Conducting/delivering regulatory training programs to meet EHS requirements.

Qualifications

What skills do you need to have?  

There will be many opportunities for you to learn and grow into this role and Microsoft. However, to be able to best deliver on the purpose of this role, these are the core skills and experiences you should have on day one: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or any other related field and proven experience in EHS.
  • Must have current working knowledge of Australia Occupational Safety and Health standards, and other non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location. Knowledge of U.S Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations will be advantageous.
  • Must hold current and locally recognized EHS certifications or registrations where applicable.
