WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
US Reg Reporting team is looking for an experienced developer that can help build, scale and modernize a big data platform as well as help define the strategic roadmap for a key regulatory application as well as its components. This individual will work with business, Front Office Technology, Platform and application development and support teams to create creative solutions to complex problems to meet strict regulatory timelines and SLA’s as well as setup the future solution architecture.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
• Responsible for overall design, development and team coordination on the business system/application, as well as continuous improvement recommendations
• Communicate standards and defends technology and scoping decisions to information technology management and development teams
• Actively participate in requirements gathering, development, documentation, unit testing execution, systems, integration and acceptance tests and testing tools for functions of high complexity
• Produce high quality code which is functional and maintainable
• Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications for the projects in accordance with PLC, security and architecture documentation objectives
• Participate in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs and unit test plans
• Assist the first line support team in supporting the suite of applications
• Impart knowledge and benefit of experience to other members of the team
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
• Experience developing large-scale, mission critical applications
• Full development life cycle experience, from architecture through test and deployment and cross platform skills
• Deep experience with Big Data database footprint technologies such as: Scala, Spark, Hadoop, hdfs, hive or columnar databases like MongoDB as well as the Java ecosystem and enterprise offerings, including debugging and profiling tools (jconsole), logging and monitoring tools (log4j, JMX), and security offerings (Kerberos)
• Creating, supporting and consuming DevOps CI/CD framework, GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Jira/Confluence
Nice-to-have:
• Knowledge and Hands on Skills with Docker, Kubernetes, and Container Security Tools
• Knowledge with cloud computing and technologies
• Experience working with and building services in cloud, such as AWS, Azure
• Experience in Big Data application development in the Financial Services industry
