Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, with a strong background in Software, Electrical and Power/Energy Systems, to join the Schneider Electric Solar Storage Systems team.
In this role the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the architecture and design of the system, driving end-to-end systems engineering activities such as requirements development and test tracking, cross functionally defining what a product will do, communicating product needs to all business & engineering stakeholders, ensuring subsystem implementation meets requirements needs, and performing hands on verification & validation testing. In addition, take a leading stance in the technical development of the product throughout its entire development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and own the system/sub-system requirements and key design decisions of features that spans across different engineering discipline teams.
Be the key technical contact for external (customer, partners) and internal (product managers, lab technicians, system engineers) communication for product design.
Perform high level technical feasibility analysis of requested features.
Translate feature requirements into technical requirements that can be consumed by engineering teams.
Develops system designs, performs functional analysis, defines systems architecture, defines interfaces and specifications, performs trade-studies and documents the design
System Engineering Deliverables such as requirements, functional specification, Design Verification Test Plan, DFMEA, etc.
Develops System Test & Qualification Plans
Lead issue management and resolution including troubleshooting and debugging in testing facility, external customer/partner facility, or end user installation
Participate in code reviews / component design with peers and customer to ensure system requirements are fulfilled
Supports system analysis activities. Fundamental understanding and ability to apply/utilize basic mathematical models for mechatronic systems and software simulation such as MatLab, Simulink and software development environments for embedded applications.

Education and Experience
Masters degree in Mechatronics/Electrical/Engineering Physics/Computer Engineering/Control Systems from an accredited University
10 years experience in systems engineering with 5 years leading large scale systems activities.
Experience in one or more of the following areas a must: solar, energy storage, EV chargers, and/or micro-grids, preferably with focus on controls and communication.
Demonstrated product development experience using standard systems-engineering practices spanning concept through production including certification and testing.
In-depth knowledge of codes and standards (NEC/NFPA, UL, Rule 21, NEM 2.0, IEEE standards) .
Demonstrated ability to apply system methodologies to design and be able to develop cascading requirement scenarios required
Experience with model-based requirements development a plus
Demonstrated excellence in communication / presenting / influencing skills required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Write clear documentation
Able to operate electrical equipment and basic understand of electrical power
Proven methodology when troubleshooting and debugging complex problems on complex systems
Excellent team player and willing to go beyond your limits to help team members
Talk and present to external and internal peers and stakeholders clearly and concisely in both formal and informal setups
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated collaborative teamwork capabilities
Structured approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
Working Conditions/Environment/Special Requirements
Availability for 15 PERCENT domestic and international travel
