The Bell Network team is on a journey to transform how Bell delivers the best customer experience with seamless access to a software-driven and cloud-based ecosystem of products, services and content. This transformation is about simplifying, virtualizing and automating the network transport and services to lower costs and increase agility to deploy Bell services.

 

 

About The Role:

 

As a Senior Solutions Architect within the Smart Core Technology & Architecture team, you will be responsible for setting the architecture vision, technical priorities and direction, creating the path for the technology development, and the cycles of deployment and integration for all development tools supporting the entire Bell Network BU, leveraging the best of Agile / Scrum framework and SRE practices and tools.

 

Our team will influence many different business and technology portfolios, so having a broad range of experience and skills in software development and tools is required. You will be supported by a crew of senior consultants and product owners to be able to deliver the best for our developers at Bell Network. 

 

Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

 

  • Act as a pseudo-Product Owner for the alignment of priorities, vision, and execution of work.
  • Own the team technology roadmap and align it with the overall the business direction
  • Directly contribute to the hands-on technical delivery alongside product owners as required providing design leadership and strategic advisory.
  • Drive the team to adopt best practices, implement internal guidelines and have a quality driven approach
  • Aligning team’s focus and priorities to enable the delivery of business objectives.
  • Participate in the ideation of new services, products, features, and solutions.
  • Decisions to continue to develop/expand or abandon the ideas or explorations.
  • Formulate and socialize team’s deliver plans/roadmaps and prioritize team’s deliveries.
  • Negotiate vendor work agreements and manage vendor partners to maintain alignment on time and budget.

 

Critical Skills/ Competencies:

 

  • Educational Background in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and/or architecture.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration & oral and written communications skills
  • Deep experience with software development lifecycle and processes
  • Expert level knowledge of software and system design patterns
  • Experience in software and system testing and operations support
  • Objective driven and ability to set the right KPI’s towards value creation
  • Strong experience with Agile / Scrum and DevOps principles, practices and tools
  • Scientific, fact-based problem-solving approach
  • Experience managing both operational and capital budgets
  • Able to understand high-level business needs and break it down to the technical level
  • Connected to the industry and the ecosystem
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to partner with & influence others at all levels
  • Ability to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to build and maintain collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Great team player able to work well with others and communicate ideas effectively

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
