Job Duties/ Accountabilities:
As a Senior Solution Architect, you will be a key participant for designing the end to end engine of network programmability and automation architecture. You will also be responsible for technology analysis, proof of concept, and trial disruptive and innovative solutions
- Analyze and design automation solution for our network (wireline and wireless) functions, that will optimize our services.
- Support the business stakeholders with their vison
- Contribute in developing 3+ years technology strategy view on network automation platforms, but not limited to networking
- Perform the technology watch; contribute to the strategy and evolution of new and existing services, as well as future architecture evolution.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for SmartCore’s, including public cloud providers, networking, orchestration, and automation.
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within Bell departments to enable them to be network automation platform advocates.
- Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.
- Act as a technical liaison between stakeholders, delivery teams and support.
Critical Skills/ Competencies:
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 10 or more years experience in designing large and complex IT operations in large organizations, a research or academic environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals.
- Good understanding of Enterprise architecture artifacts
- Demonstrated leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,†and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation.
- Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc
- Forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts.
- Knowledgeable about wireless networking, Wifi networking, DNS, WAN/LAN architectures, layer 2 switching, routing protocols, CISCO/Juniper products, TCP/UDP/IPv4/IPv6
- TCP / UDP / IP - Layer 1-3 functionality
- Understanding or experience of Agile, Lean, DevOps, adaptive working environment.
- Abilities to coach and support team
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of Cisco StarOS/IOS/IOSXR, Juniper JUNOS, Ericsson core and network security.
- Practical knowledge with DevOps tools and programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, Ansible, Git.
- Experience with Unix, Linux
- Red Hat or Equivalent qualification
- Proven ability to deliver on a portfolio, of a large and complex nature, while leveraging lean agile methodologies
- Ability to effectively negotiate and positively influence decision-making with business partners to drive change
- An outside-of-box thinker, who is extremely resourceful, with a desire to continue to self-educate and learn to push the traditional boundaries
