As we embark on a journey to support new industry scenarios like Carbon Sequestration and Storage (CCUS), Microsoft Cloud for Industries (MCI) is hiring a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in cloud solution design and implementation of cloud-scale, production services.

Responsibilities

This hands-on engineering role focuses on:

  • Collaborating with external developers and partners as well as other Microsoft engineering teams.
  • Designing, building, testing, debugging and shipping quality service code.
  • Developing new online services and integrate them into multiple 3rd party platforms.
  • Solving complex problems that allow for innovative features across multiple devices and services.
  • Participating in a community of creativity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Delivering highly available and reliable services.

Qualifications

 

Required

  • 8 years experience delivering quality software within a professional organization
  • 6 years programming in one or more of C#, GoLang, Java, C++
  • Expertise with RESTful APIs, services and cloud development
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, threading, synchronization
  • Development experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehouses and/or IoT solutions
  • You’re able to build trust with your peers and with your customers.
  • You are an ambitious teammate who is passionate about learning, sharing knowledge, and making your teammates successful
  • You are creative and have strong design, development and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Architecting and operating large-scale production systems
  • Expertise in two or more of Databricks, Kubernetes, Linux, Azure or AWS
  • Experience with Azure IoT Hub, Azure EventHub or Kafka
  • Experience with Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
