The Azure for Operators (A4O) team at Microsoft is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Databases for the Platform engineering team to join the team based in India. Our team owns the overall scalability, observability, and resilience of the Kubernetes platforms, databases, and in-memory key-value stores powered by A40 5G network functions. The candidate will help build a best-of-breed database platform as a service for developing high-performance Telco applications deployed in Public and Private Kubernetes cloud platforms. You will be part of a talented team where learning from peers and growing as a team is a core theme. 

Responsibilities

• Design and development of Redis life cycle management automation on the A40 platforms.
• Develop and maintain database client functionality of Redis cluster database operations and integrate it for unstructured data storage functions.
• Manage and Support cloud-native MongoDB database implementation
• Lead design, development, and operations of complex software systems using Kubernetes, Redis, UDSF, NoSQL 
• Seek and incorporate Opensource technologies and knowledge to solve current and foreseeable challenges. 
• Apply strong coding practices and adhere to modern software engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a minimum bachelor's degree in Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred. 
• 7+ years of experience developing commercial software with C++, Go, Redis, Mango DB 
• Experience with cloud-native distributed architecture, Kubernetes environment, PAAS components 
• Experience with life cycle management of Microservices in private and public cloud environments.  
• Experience in designing and coding NoSQL database APIs and deploying NoSQL database(s) in a Kubernetes and finetune database performance

Preferred:

• Working knowledge of cloud-native observability systems for logging, tracing, alerting, and metrics.
• Active contributor of any CNCF project
• Experience with UDSF interfaces, and operations based on 3GPP using Redis Cluster as a backend database
