The OASIS team in Office is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about working on intelligent, high scale, distributed services. These services power the next generation productivity app, Microsoft Loop. You will help design, build, and run all aspects of these high scale services including monitoring, scalability, reliability, and relevance. If you want hands-on experience in architecting, designing, building, and running a global service in the M365 and Azure ecosystem, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

• Be self-driven, own and deliver complete features, including design, architecture, implementation, testability, debugging, shipping, and production on call rotation.
• Work closely with other disciplines to shape the service infrastructure and product.
• Act as a feature lead for a team of 2-4 engineers.
• Guide, mentor, and coach junior engineers on the team.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and work well with other people.
• Foster a culture of being agile, innovative, team-oriented, and customer-focused.
• Contribute to team-wide fundamentals/infrastructure investments.
• Investigate and prototype modern technologies and frameworks.
• Write and maintain unit tests and automated integration tests.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in object-oriented programming (C#, C++/C, or Java)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of experience in developing Web Services and managing large scale production services. (Azure, AWS or similar)

• Experience handling technical deep dives into networking, service design, operating systems, and storage
• Experience shaping the strategy of building infrastructure and service reliability with leadership teams
• Experience in distributed systems, networking, global traffic management and capacity planning
• Expertise in problem solving and analyzing/diagnosing service health issues on a global scale
• Experience defining and measuring internal customers facing service level objectives and agreements
• Strong debugging, testing/validation, and analytics/telemetry skills

• Experience in a DevOps culture supporting live site
• Experience in ASP.net Core, SignalR, Redis, Container services
