The Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges focused on their outcomes and journey. We work closely with our customers’ engineers to jointly develop code to build solutions and to accelerate their organization’s cloud digital transformation. We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to achieve more with cloud technologies.  

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer with deep experience and expertise designing and delivering solutions using modern software engineering practices and cloud technologies.  You will be working side-by-side with customer engineers to build innovative solutions. You will be sharing the learning from engagements and give product feedback directly to the Microsoft engineering groups. We source our ideas and designs by maintaining very deep connections with open-source communities and the customers and partners that use them. As a member of our team, you will gain experience working with a variety of modern technologies that are adopted by the customers. 

Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers’ engineers to deliver Azure cloud solutions adopting to the customer’s development tools and languages and establishing engineering best practices such as PR/CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, logging, monitoring etc. 

Continuously build your technical knowledge and improve our ability to deliver quality solutions evolving our engineering process and technical capabilities 

Mentor team members to drive excellence in engineering as a cohesive, efficient, and productive unit 

Write exemplary code and lead by example 

Deal with ambiguity, drive ideation, evolve the roadmap, and drive adoption every step of the way 

Designing large-scale systems 

Job includes coding at least 80% of the time 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

5+ years of relevant software industry experience 

2+ years of Cloud experience building and shipping large-scale distributed services and APIs, preferably on Azure or AWS platforms 

Preferred Qualifications:  

A good working knowledge of agile software development methodologies and tools that enable these, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or others 

Prior experience in building MLOps pipelines, IoT Hub/Edge services, ELT 

Experience using CosmosDB, Spark, messaging/KAFKA, Kubernetes/AKS and other cloud services 

Track record of building large scale services 

Experience in manufacturing or energy industry space 

Proficiency in one or more of these languages – C#, Python, Java, Go, JavaScript 

Significant experience in one or more software stacks 

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or the equivalent 

Enjoy travel and are comfortable with regional travel up to 25%
