The Role:

The Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Engineering and Architecture Practice (EAP) is responsible for defining and executing core architecture and technology strategy for the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and works across the ICG to ensure complete strategic alignment and efficiency of execution across a diverse portfolio of engineering activities, including external Cloud Capability development, Platform Architectures, and Data Engineering. This role is for a strong Senior Data Engineering lead in the ICG Data Engineering team who will be responsible for codification of the architecture, designing new system capabilities and building data engineering components on-premise and on the cloud. Your solutions will be leveraged by tens of thousands of developers across Citi supporting applications used by hundreds of thousands of internal and client users, and must be simple to use, well documented with an excellent developer experience. Engineering excellence and a hands-on background in modern software engineering are essential. What youll be doing:

This is a hands-on technical role, building solutions that will be leveraged by developers. You will demonstrate sound engineering principles, and strong coding skills.

You will advocate and advance modern software development practices, including privacy and security first principles, incorporate DevSecOps and SRE best practices, helping engineering teams navigate complex security and risk requirements and architect innovative solutions that are secure, resilient and scalable.

You will ensure that your team delivers great solutions that users love by maintaining a culture of quality and engineering excellence.

Who you are:

You are a hands-on, senior software engineer with a passion for building modern, fully observable data engineering solutions. You strive to build solutions that are valued by developers and have an experience-based understanding of what that means.

You certainly have

Solid experience in an agile development environment with modern programming languages and technologies such any of the following: Golang, Java/Spring Boot, Python, Kotlin, Scala etc.

Good working knowledge of distributed systems, Rest APIs, streaming and message queueing systems (Kafka etc.).

A love of working together on scalable systems, embracing new technologies, and pushing the boundaries of the art of the possible.

Deep curiosity and interest in technology, systems engineering and data

It would be great if you also have

Expertise in Big Data technologies

Experience in implementing cloud-native applications using open and closed source standards and solutions including Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, and public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
