Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will be responsible for working with project owners and partners at the Advice Centre (AC) to identify project deliverables, create an organized project plan, and drive execution. You will be the single point of contact for the Waterfall, Iterative or Agile projects. You will quickly learn the business objectives and project concepts, and take the team and the deliverables through to successful completion. You will oversee and manage each project by developing the detailed work packages, schedules, budgets, identifying the necessary resources and providing regular updates and communications to stakeholders/sponsors.

 

What will you do?

  • Through collaboration and persuasion, guide stakeholders towards common goals and ensure projects are executed efficiently, while ensuring promotion of innovative methods and best practices
  • Create project plans with the business sponsor/project owner, articulate business outcomes, success metrics and identify key assumptions, risks, dependencies, and required supporting actions
  • Set up project governance, provide project oversight, and manage project communications and status reports for executives and stakeholders
  • Provide guidance on project deliverables, including business case preparation and alternative solutions; and create and track project metrics, identify trends and risks and manage project timeline, costs and budgets
  • Recommend best solutions to project owners and stakeholders based on understanding of business issues
  • Provide recommendations on project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk
  • Resolve project issues and conflicts, and act as an escalation point for potential conflicts between direction and project constraints
  • Lead project closure activities, such as lessons-learned sessions, and document action plans for any identified areas of improvement

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5+ years of project management related experience, with a strong knowledge of Project Management and PMO methodology
  • Experience managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and driving success
  • Superior business acumen with the ability to adapt and adequately apply experience to new situations
  • Self-starter with proven leadership, negotiation, verbal and written communication and collaboration capabilities
  • Advanced ability to manage project plans, individual deadlines and goals
  • Ability to identify and assess risks/issues, generate solutions and recommend appropriate alternatives using objective frameworks

 

Nice-to-have

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering
  • PMP certification
