The Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges and transform their industries using cloud-based solutions. We work closely with our customers’ engineers to develop code to jointly solve their biggest challenges to accelerate progress in their organization. In the process, we help shape the future of our own platforms by partnering with our product groups to improve them. We sit side-by-side with our customers to collaboratively innovate custom solutions tailored to solve their challenges. Our work involves the development of high-impact, open source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform that are broadly applicable. Important to this role, we’re looking for candidates with a solid foundation in PM fundamentals, a proven track record of driving customer success, experience with Executive communications, and a passion for cloud native application technologies.

Drive customer engagements to deliver well-defined products that generate immediate customer value and high-quality, broadly applicable software contributions to Microsoft products and to open-source communities

Influence product roadmaps by developing relationships with product teams, sharing insights and data from customer engagements, and driving executive communication.

Scale impact by identifying top priorities for in-demand subject matter experts, manage backlog and assets that help scale top customer patterns, and accelerate developer success by building trust and sharing cross-organizational best practices.

Participate in hands-on coding activities to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.

Understand common cloud architecture patterns and trade-offs, best practices for cloud engineering, developer productivity issues, etc.

Contribute to a collaborative culture that embraces inclusivity and diversity

Continuously drive excellence in program management fundamentals to continually build our shared best-practices

Qualifications

Qualifications

We are seeking people who have experiences which reflect the qualifications below: 

Required Qualifications:

5+ years program management experience including shipping complex production systems that run on a public cloud

Experience managing projects using Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong program management (PM) experience in managing customer relationships and engagements, triaging and managing priorities

Deep understanding of cloud services and architecture, including business drivers and emerging trends across Microsoft and non-Microsoft technologies

Proven track record of delivering impact as a product/program owner

Proficiency in creating technical reports, white papers or case studies

Experience working within and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or the equivalent

Industry experience in one of the following industries: automotive, energy, travel and transportation, financial services, government, health, manufacturing, media & communications, or retail

Enjoy travel and comfortable with regional travel up to 25%
