What is the opportunity?
As the dedicated designer, you will lead the design for the next evolution of GarbageDay, a mobile app expanding beyond household reminders to a broader offering for homeowners as a “home coach†app. Our vision is enabling homeowners to be smarter about managing their home - their largest asset. We’ll do this by being a trusted app that homeowners regularly depend on to manage the physical and financial aspects of their home.
In this next era, we will be expanding our product offerings and looking for a Senior Product Designer to join us at this pivotal point of our growth journey. This is a unique opportunity to make your mark on the end-to-end design of the product, shape the design strategy and contribute to the visual evolution of our brand.

What will you do?
Work within a close-knit product development team and lead design on various projects to better the end-to-end experience of our mobile app and other channels
Drive a high-performing product design skillset and the ability to leverage design thinking practices to build UI/ UX flows that balance strategic business goals with the needs of users
Lead a design-driven process from discovery, research, design through to optimization
Understand the capabilities, strengths, and limitations of a technology stack to best align design and development to optimize efficiency, performance, and user value
Apply systems thinking to the creation, maintenance, and growth of our existing design systemâ —ensuring consistency and simplicity within our brand guidelines
Adapt your skill sets across challenges within the product life cycle—from identifying problems, research, ideation, and execution
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to reach clarity and alignment on small to large ideas to better the user experience using informal and formal design thinking methods
Support the team in applying qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions within our day-to-day work
What do you need to succeed?

Support for continuous and iterative improvement—you are comfortable with feedback cycles that are openly communicative and generous within one-on-one and large team settings
Being meticulous and detail-oriented—you advocate for beautiful visual design balanced with solid UX.
An adaptive mindset that is able to thrive in ambiguity
Must-haves:
4+ years of experience working in digital on design teams
A design portfolio that illustrates a range of strategic thinking, visual design, and strong UX
Experience designing Native Apps and Responsive Web platforms
Has built and launched at least 4+ large features or a full product that has gone from discovery through to launch and optimization
Technical proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Principle, or your prototyping tool of choice
Knowledge and/or hands-on experience working in rapid product development and an agile environment
Strong understanding of core design principles related to typography, grid systems, visual hierarchy, colour systems, white space etc.
Undergraduate degree in Design (e.g., interaction, visual communications, product, industrial) or a related field or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-haves:
A strong understanding of Accessibility and Inclusive Design practices.
Ability to generate high-fidelity illustrations and iconography based on brand guidelines
