We are looking for a seasoned and bold engineering leader to increase the reach of the Big Data Platform to provide service of entire data lifecycle to enable M365 product teams running their business and deliver intelligent features. You will have the opportunity to become an expert on big data, learn from thousands of Office engineers all over the world, pursue engineering excellence, and make industry-defining impact!

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities include, but not limited to building, and leading a team of engineers to design and deliver features, platforms, and tools end-to-end that provide the M365 Big Data team’s great developer experience. You will drive innovation and new features, identify opportunities, and deliver on big challenges working under self-driven initiatives with product managers and customers upstream and downstream across teams.

You will grow and mentor junior engineers and improve the team’s engineering process. This role is part of a global team based in multiple locations in North America and China. Candidates should expect occasional travel to development centers throughout the year. 

Qualifications

• Self-driven, experience building & leading engineer teams on large-scale efforts with team-wide impact
• Knowledge of one or more of these languages: C#, C++, Java, Python, SQL or similar
• Experienced in complex, high-scale distributed systems  
• Excellent management skills with experience collaborating across teams and inspiring engineering talent
• Strong technical problem solving
• Excellent planning, execution, and mentoring skills. 
•  Datamining and data pipeline knowledge is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, electronic engineering or related area
