With hundreds of millions of users and tens of thousands of business customers from every industry and region in the world, Microsoft 365 is the locomotive that is driving Microsoft’s leadership in cloud services. The M365 core service platform is critical to the success of Microsoft 365 and a foundational ingredient in productivity and intelligent assistant experiences in all of Microsoft’s flagship products and services, including Windows, Office, Cortana, and Dynamics. You will be working with the Content Search team that is driving the overall search experience for Office 365. The team will deliver world-leading search experience across various scenarios to enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

You will have chance

• To lead a team of 10 engineers to deliver features for Microsoft key service Microsoft Search which helps people all over the planet to achieve professional productivity through daily search
• To closely collaborate with Search team in Microsoft headquarter to work on latest technologies together.
• To design and deliver multi-prone infrastructure to balance the need of latency requirement and index freshness
• To ensure all the content including text, attachment, images etc. is indexed properly and accurately. This includes using Open Source components for document understanding as well as cognitive ML models for image and other media types.
• To understand and drive metrics that can measure user satisfaction on query results and improve on it
• To understand and deal with real world issues by being in the on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Care about people, able to coach people to growth.
• 8+ years of software development experience in software industry
• 2+ years of experience in managing software engineering team
• Be able and willing to hands on, including coding, troubleshooting, etc.
• Good communication skills and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Familiar with software life cycle, development tools, building process, version control and product verification
• Strong design skills of distributed system or large scale cloud services
• Background or interested in search technology is a plus
