This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to shape the inaugural Aged Care Commissioner’s work programme and make a real difference for older people and their whÄnau.
The primary purpose of the Senior Policy Advisor role is to provide high quality analysis and trusted strategic and policy advice to the Aged Care Commissioner and to lead the Aged Care Commissioner’s policy work programme.
The Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC) promotes and protects the rights of people using health and disability services. The Aged Care Commissioner has recently been appointed within HDC to advocate on behalf of older people and their whÄnau for better services in the health and disability system, provide greater oversight of New Zealand’s aged care sector, and support quality improvement and the Government’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
