Job Description

As a Senior Platform Administrator you will be responsible to help manage, administrate, and support a number of key technologies that are part of the Data Fabric solution for the Enterprise. The role will help to administer these platforms in meeting high performance, scaling to large user volumes, and high volume concurrency. The successful candidate will work with senior management, technical, and business teams across the enterprise in leveraging the Enterprise Data Fabric solution.

What will you do?

• Platform support & administration for key Data Fabric technologies (e.g. Starburst Trino)
• Manage and administrate key Data Fabric Platforms (i.e. servers, operations, upgrades, disaster recovery exercises, etc.)
• Support Business and Technical teams with expert trouble shooting, guidance and consultancy.
• Identify and recommend performance tuning and optimization opportunities within the data fabric environment
• Analyzing code, and using ad-hoc tests to troubleshoot complex issues

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• Hadoop experience (HDFS, and Hive)
• Extensive Linux/Unix background, shell scripting
• Excellent scripting skills and experience with automation
• Experience with platform security: Authentication (LDAP, Kerberos), Authorization Technologies, SSL
• Proficient in SQL and Knowledge of Relational database concepts and design

Nice to have

• Redhat Linux 6/7 on VMWare
• Setting up and tuning distributed processing engines
• Experience with Docker, and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of enterprise middleware and security tools and standards
• Proficient in the following technical languages: Java, Bash, Python
• Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift)
