National Bank, Financial Markets is a leading financial services firm providing investment banking services to a diversified client base that includes corporations, institutional customers and governments. The primary objective of Financial Markets New Product and Activities team is to support Financial Markets in its Business strategy in attaining efficiencies. The team has the responsibility to support the Business lines & partners Operations to scope, prioritize and implement different types of initiatives to support business growth as well as operational efficiencies.
In order to reduce Financial Markets time to market and ensure sustainability, the team also oversees improvements of business capabilities and /or ecosystems and participates in different projects.
We are expanding our team of truly passionate professionals in Montreal; Quebec and we are seeking a senior Transformation professional to contribute and support the implementation of Regulatory, business growth and improvement initiatives.
This position reports to the Managing Director, Financial Markets New Products and Activities
Some of your main challenges:
Carry out several initiatives and mandates simultaneously. This will require in-depth knowledge of financial markets and regulatory requirements, products, systems, end-to-end processes and data.
Identify Business Capability improvement opportunities to reduce time to market, support growth and support overall health of Financial Market processes
Main accountabilities:
As soon as new initiatives are identified, perform preliminary analysis with the appropriate project owner (‘’PO’’) in determining size, skillset required, dependencies and re-assess overall delivery roadmap.
When initiatives are manageable in the Run-the Bank mode, coordinate as part of the New Product & Activity Pipeline
When initiatives are managed as FM blueprint projects
Provide insight/ guidance to project team on current E2E state and constraints.
Support the project team in solution design and scoping.
Provide insight & guidance on the current E2E state and constraints
Work with the delivery team to define target state / solution (architecture) and deployment strategy will bring the most value through workshops with architect, business analyst.
If and when issues arise, accompany Product Owner & project team to resolve and re-assess design with continued eye on target state.
Address data, booking or process issues in the New Product & Activities pipeline in RTB (continuous improvement) mode to ensure Project team remained focused on feature delivery
Support the delivery team in presenting to NPC for final review/approval.
Support the prioritization process of the FME2E and New Products and Activity committees;
On an ongoing basis, Identify, assess improvements/ transformations required and perform High level of requirements (Gate 0) Scope delivery with FM partners to provide FME2E with recommendations to reduce time-to-market, increase overall efficiency and reduce risks. Recommendations should include business requirements, benefits and sizing
Requirements:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field and 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in Financial Markets and/ or Regulatory environment.
Solid knowledge of Financial Markets activities, including products, the systems, data and processes and regulatory requirements
Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced environment, with a strong solutions orientated mindset
Demonstrated leadership and accountability
Proven ability to solve complex problems.
Excellent priority management skills.
Focused on delivering tangible results.
Comfortable working in a stressful, ambiguous and a constant evolving environment to support a demanding professional clientele.

French and English (spoken / written) required.
