- Primary financial lead for Personal Lending Business and Newcomer Client Segment, essentially acting as CFO for the business. Provide financial guidance and support to the Business in development of their strategies
- Lead the development of financial models related to investment decisions and new initiatives, providing guidance on key performance and business metrics
- Assist business in financial target setting as part of the forecasting and planning processes. Identify key risks and opportunities to the forecast and plan
- Identify opportunities to transform and advance our planning processes using driver-based forecasting methods, including regression techniques where warranted
- Provide monthly results to the management team of Personal Lending business. Ensure timely reporting of monthly results. Effectively interpret and communicate the financial results, highlighting key plan and growth variances
- Provide guidance and support on key strategic investment decisions, including BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) solutions
- Lead cost savings initiatives on behalf of the Business, identifying areas and opportunities for cost savings
- Identify areas to streamline Finance processes, generating internal time savings (5% annual target)
Must Have
- Excellent financial and analytical skills
- Strong communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills in order to establish value-add relationships at all levels
- Solid knowledge/previous experience in financial reporting /analysis and expense/cost management and chargeouts
- Knowledge and experience with financial systems (EPM)
- Proven planning, organizational, problem solving and execution skills
- Strong Client Focus and Service Provider mindset
- Business acumen and understanding of business strategies and impacts
- Proven expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Nice to Have
- CA, CMA, CGA, MBA and / or CFA would be an asset
Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Personal Lending Finance is responsible for providing Finance Advisory support and services to the Personal Lending Business and Newcomer Client Segment (PL&NS) within Canadian Banking. Lead contact to the business to provide value added financial analysis and advisory support for investment decisions related to initiatives and projects. Assist the business in financial target setting as part of forecasting, planning and budgeting processes, including identifying relevant risks and opportunities to forecast/plan. Provide guidance on strategic initiatives and investments, including BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) solutions. Provide guidance and assistance in pricing decisions and other ad-hoc requests, where required.
