Bell Residential and Small Business provides the most innovative, industry-leading Internet, TV and Smart Home products and services to Canadians. 

 The Content Team in BRSB is critical to the success of Bell’s TV products and services. The team’s primary goal is to offer the most compelling content, whether that be from linear services (ex. CTV, TSN, CBC, etc.) or OTT partnerships (Netflix, Prime, etc.)

Once content and services are acquired, the team is responsible for packaging in a competitive manner. Working closely with the Packaging Strategy team, the Senior Manager of Packaging will drive execution into ordering, provisioning and billing systems across all lines of business and regions, enabling content and billing for our customers.

Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the chosen candidate must have a deep understanding of, and be an advocate for, our customers across the country. Activities will include new product introductions, product and service enhancements, competitive benchmarking and analysis, business planning & analysis activities.

The successful candidate will drive packaging execution while ensuring a flawless customer experience; aggressively delivering projects on time and on a budget, to maintain our competitive advantage. They will be a key interface between Bell’s various commercial, front-line, and back-office teams while maintaining concise updates for the executive team.  This role requires leadership, maturity, and solid business acumen and a deep-seated impulse to sweat the details – all to ensure amazing experiences for our customers.

 Job Duties / Accountabilities:

The Senior Manager – Packaging will report to the Director of Content Acquisition. Deliverables will include:

  • Leading the creation of new content packages, working across 4 separate IT platforms
  • Working closely alongside the Content Strategy team to align on packaging requirements and timing
  • Working closely with the Network Operations team to ensure signal is delivered on time and with quality, to ensure the best customer experience
  • Aligning stakeholders across the company (Customer Operations, Network, Marketing, etc.) as new content launches or is removed from our line-up
  • Executing flawlessly on projects, by building the most competitive packages and launching them quickly into the market
  • Keeping an eye on our traditional and emerging competitors, and updating the organization when market changes occur
  • Providing input into business cases to identify the business reasons for pursuing packaging changes
  • Summarizing conclusions and recommendations in concise and compelling for presentation to executives
  • Supporting a team of Packaging managers in their development as they manage their own portfolios

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • A university degree, ideally in business
  • Prior experience with Bell’s IT systems, awareness of our Ordering, Billing & Provisioning systems
  • Previous experience leading a team and leading large-scale projects, ideally in the fields of telecom
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a track record of strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly adjust to changing priorities, with proven organizational and project management skills
  • Superior attention to detail and execution skills, with an ability to take initiative and get the job done
  • Proven ability to learn and understand new technologies
  • A history of working on large, cross-functional projects across an organization
  • Experience with Scrum or other Agile development methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prior experience in leading people

 

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • An MBA is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures
