Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Manager within the Transaction Strategy and Execution (TSE) IT team in our Sydney office, which performs IT management consulting services for transactions. This role is offered on a flexible part-time or full-time basis.
As part of the TSE IT team, you will provide management consulting support to clients throughout the deal lifecycle, including analysing IT environments and providing key insights from your experience as an IT professional. Our services range from complex IT M&A due diligence, M&A IT projects (post-merger IT integration, IT carve out/separation) and post deal value enhancement.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead business development initiatives including leading sales proposals, scoping of projects, commercial negotiations and securing engagement approval from clients
- Lead the delivery of IT due diligence, IT post-merger integration and IT separation/carve-out assignments from inception to completion including project management and report writing
- Build and maintain effective client relationships with senior stakeholders and be accountable for a high degree of client satisfaction with the engagement process and work products
- Train, oversee and motivate a team of high-performing IT transaction professionals, working within the broader TSE team in Sydney and nationally
- Maintain IT industry thought leadership on relevant topics such as enterprise IT infrastructure, application migration, cybersecurity and digital and analytics
Skills and attributes for success
- Professional experience and/or an educational background in Technology / Computer Science
- Business and commercially driven mindset – ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate sound business acumen to drive value for our clients
- Business development – facilitate client pursuits, including presentations and client meetings.
- Building relationships – develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior clients, with the ability to influence, advise and support key decision makers
- IT project management – lead project teams comprising of colleagues across multiple EY divisions
- Excellent report writing – strong English language skills and the ability to produce written work of the highest quality
- Problem-solving – ability to deal with ambiguous circumstances and take an assumptions-based approach to drive IT project outcomes

Ideally, you’ll also have
- Management Consulting or Professional Services experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Business, Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience
- Experience in IT post-merger integrations, divestitures, and/or carve-outs with a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
- The ability to synthesise approaches to complex integration/divestiture conflicts
- Experience leading and managing projects in complex business environments
- Team leadership, experience leading small and medium sized teams
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally
- Established networking skills in a relevant industry
